Cash has had a headache every day since school started by 9:30-10:30 a.m. I have gone to school every day to give him Tylenol and caffeine, which is effective and he is able to return to class. He has not had his glasses as they are broken. States that he is just sitting in class listening to the teacher, not reading or writing, when the headaches begin.

Left Lake Compounce after 2 hours because Cashy says his left leg hurts. He is whining and limping. States that it hurts "inside" from his underpants line down to the tops of his toes. States it hurts more when he walks on it or moves it. States that it began to hurt when we drove into lake compounce (before we got out of the car). Physical exam and palpation reveal no differences between R and L leg other that pedal pushes are weaker on L side and he states "it hurts." Pain level 4-6 on Wong Baker scale. Neuro checks normal (other than pedal pushes). Administered 2 Children's chewable Tylenol w/ + result.

July 12
Cash woke up at about 4:30 a.m. on Sunday morning and said he had a headache, but he went right back to sleep. Later, at about 7:30 a.m., he was watching TV and said he was starting to get a headache. I asked him how big it was (relatively small, as measured by stretching his hands apart). I gave him a Coke (against my better judgment considering it was 7:30 a.m. and it's a sugary drink) and children's motrin. He said a short time later the headache went away. I checked with him throughout the day, and it didn't come back.

June 14
We brought the kids to the Litchfield Road Race, a pretty big event on the town green here - 1,500 runners, lots of spectators kind of spread out picnic style on the green.
Soon after we got there (11:30 a.m.), he said he was getting a headache. He was very worried about it because he knows by now what it's going to be like, and it seems like he can sense when it is coming - starting out small and getting worse. (I ask him how big it is and he stretches his hands out to show that it's little, medium, or very very big ...)
We weren't in a position to run home, so I had him lie down on a quilt and put the blanket over his head to block out all of the sensory overload and some of the noise of the place. This seemed to help. He also sat in my lap, blanket over his head, and closed his eyes. I didn't have access to advil or anything to give him, but I did go over and get him an orange soda. And he drank the whole thing over the course of not feeling well.
He had been wearing his glasses that morning. He had breakfast (toast and jelly, had drank water, maybe had a cheese stick as well and some strawberries). He slept normally the night before.
It lasted for about two hours. At one point he had to use the bathroom, so I carried him over there, and along the way he said his "mouth felt weird." I asked him if it was dry or numb or tingly or what he meant. He couldn't really explain but he opened his mouth and kind of touched his tongue.
Then, about two hours into this, he went over to a trash can on the green and threw up voluminously. After that, he was almost immediately completely better. Head didn't hurt, had energy, was hungry and was asking for food. He got a hot dog and ate the whole thing and was fine. We went to the beach after, and he was fine there, too.

June 2015
I thought it would be useful if we posted as much of the info below when headaches occur. If you could click on the current month's post and "edit" it, that would allow us to keep a month's worth of posts in one place, and we wouldn't have to sift through individual blog entries. Later we could print each month and take to Dr visits if necessary.

Took cash to Dr. Vijai. "Whooping ear infection." PO amoxicillin and otic neomycin/polymixin prescribed. No HA today. Dr vijay wants to see if fixing the ear infection solves the problem; if not he thinks we should recheck glasses for appropriate strength and fit before going to a neurologist. He says he does not recommend "exposing him to a whole lot of radiation" at this time.
Yesterday was the first morning cashy woke up crying with a headache and this concerns me. Most of his headaches have been later in the day.
Cashy told me today that before he gets a headache "I feel funny" and "there is a noise in my head like the noise when I have a headache but I don't remember what it sounds like." Says the noise is a softer version of the noise in his head when he has a headache.
Has been complaining that I "hurt" him when I pick him up under his armpits etc --stuff that should be harmful. Not sure whether this is exaggerated (I always assume it is)
